Sony has lately been at the forefront of innovation when it comes to home-console-based gaming, introducing 3D to the PlayStation 3 and launching the PlayStation Move motion tracking system, but a majority of the titles that are launched for the company's hardware do not actually take advantage of these innovations.

But it seems that in the future we might see more games pushing both 3D and Move in significant ways.

Scott McCarthy, who is the software senior brand manager for the PlayStation division, has told Industry Gamers that Sony is trying to include 3D gaming and Move in as many of the titles that it releases as possible.

He stated that synergy between brand is a goal, “Whenever we come out with new technology. Whether it’s Move or 3D, there is always the request that goes out to the teams that says, ‘Hey it would be great if you could implement it.’”

He added, “We know that adds to the layer of not only the marketing message we have access to but it also adds to the availability of different Sony channels that we can broadcast our message out to.”

The recently launched first-person shooter Killzone 3 has support for three-dimensional gaming and for the Move as a control method, but that game was developed by Guerrilla Games, one of the studios that work very close with Sony and always pushed the boundaries of the PlayStation 3.

Support for both technologies will also be included in games like SOCOM 4 and Resistance 3.

Rival company Microsoft also has an adoption problem for the Kinect motion tracking system and the company has also said that it will push the technology more during 2011.

Microsoft recently said that it would be offering an official version of the Kinect SDK for the PC during spring.
