Recent rumors state that Sony is preparing to announce the NEX-7 successor, the A7000 interchangeable lens camera, and a new A-mount digital SLR in a couple of weeks, most probably at the upcoming CP+ show in Yokohama, Japan.

Other sources claim that the new A-mount DSLR from Sony will be called A79. According to SonyAlphaRumors, trusted sources state that the upcoming A77 successor will feature on-sensor PDAF (Phase-Detection Autofocus) and it will be curious to see if the new camera will have a semitransparent mirror or not.

A few months ago, a new Sony patent was discovered that shows a DSLR camera with such a feature. For the moment there's no other information about Sony A79 and the company's officials are avoiding to answer questions regarding future SLT technologies.

This year, at CES, Sony introduced the A5000 mirrorless camera that, as of now, is the world's lightest and smallest interchangeable lens camera on the market.
