With CP+ coming in a few weeks, rumors are starting to circulate regarding the cameras and lenses that might be announced at next month's Camera and Photo Imaging Show.

As you already know, Sony has officially dropped the NEX moniker from its E-mount mirrorless camera line to emphasize that both A-mount and E-mount digital cameras are part of the same Alpha brand.

Dpreview forum member kcamacho11 revealed a few new bits of information about Sony's future plans regarding E-mount cameras and lenses. According to this user, it seems that the company is about to announce the successor of its NEX-7 model in a couple of weeks.

There's no information yet about its name, but we can only speculate that it will be called A7000 if we take into consideration the latest E-mount cameras released by the Nippon manufacturer. Moreover, this model will become Sony's new flagship APS-C interchangeable lens camera.

Furthermore, kcamacho11 also mentioned that the company was working on a standard zoom lens (16-50mm or 17-55mm) that will feature a constant f/2.8 aperture throughout the entire focal range.
