“Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara is again speaking out against Botox and the ongoing trend among female stars of looking at least 10 to 15 years younger than the actually are, saying the toxin and fillers create “monsters.”

Shortly after branding Madonna a “freak” for not accepting to grow old gracefully, Sofia is taking a stand again, saying that beauty exists even when there are wrinkles and saggy skin.

In fact, she says for the latest issue of Self magazine (as cited by Orange County Register’s In Your Face column), all the wrinkles in the world are better than looking like a genuine monster.

The solution is not to wait until the first signs appear and then do something drastic about them, but rather to take good care of the body so that the same signs take longer until they’re noticeable.

And what better way to look good, no matter the age, than by working out, eating healthy and avoiding all types of excess.

Cue to Sofia: “I exercise because you need it to stay slim and stay put, especially as you get older.”

As it happens, she’s probably one of the few women of her age (she’s 38) to see it this way, because most actresses would rather they got Botox and fillers in a vain attempt at staying young.

“Some women overdo it: Their body looks 20, but their face looks horrible. You need a little fat in your face,” Sofia explains.

“So they fill their face with [rubbish], and then they look like monsters. Who do you think you’re fooling? We know those aren’t your lips. I don’t want plastic surgery or fillers or Botox,” the actress adds.

Of course, Sofia is not happy to be growing old, either. Which woman would be? However, she’s learned to accept this fact and she can now say she’s really aging gracefully.

“I don’t want to age any more! But when I see somebody aging normally and somebody fighting it like crazy, I always think the one who hasn’t done anything looks better than the other one. The sooner you learn that, the better off you are,” she says.
