Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” came dangerously close of being slapped with a criminally annoying charge (yes, there is such a thing) but walked only with a slap on the wrist, a fine and a few hours of community service.

At the time she was sentenced (early September), the reality star had already worked for a day as volunteer at an animal shelter, so that was cut from her 2-day sentence.

Now, E! Online has learned Snooki has found just the thing to do to complete her sentence – and, as several other media outlets point out, it’s a shame Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan & co. didn’t think of it before.

The diminute reality star will not be sweeping the street or picking up garbage, but signing autographs for what’s left of her community work.

There’s a catch, though: those who want Snooki’s signature on a piece of paper need to make a small donation to a charity, so she’s not as above the law as one might be tempted to think.

“Just when we thought New Jersey had nothing left to add to the betterment of our nation’s cultural landscape comes this brilliant take on community service: punish the community, service the ego of the guilty,” E! says.

“Which is exactly what Jersey Shore’s gorilla-loving head guidette will be doing come this weekend, when Snooki makes up for her public drunkenness by sitting for a three-hour autograph session,” the e-zine further reports.

As noted above, the autographs don’t come for free because the money will go to Snooki’s favorite organization.

“If people want an autograph, they will make a $10 contribution to Donations of Love. Nicole will also be making an additional contribution to the organization,” the star’s attorney, Raymond Raya, says.

“It can be quite painful to sign autographs for three hours,” he adds. Those who want to see just how hard it can be, they can find Snooki at the Seaside Heights Community Center this weekend.

Not that there can be any comparison, but country darling Taylor Swift once spent 15 hours in a continuous meet and greet marathon with fans. Now, that was painfully exhausting, as Taylor herself said.
