14 DAY TRIAL // Reality star Snooki is pregnant with her first child. Word of this initially got out in the press one month ago, but she denied it. TMZ says she only lied because she didn't want to jinx herself.
As we also reported the other day, the diminute “Jersey Shore” star is expecting her first child but, for some reason, she is not yet ready to confirm it.
Voices online say it's either because she's holding out an announcement until her exclusive Us Weekly issue comes out, while others insist she's keeping mum because MTV wants to write the pregnancy into the plotline of her spinoff reality show.
TMZ claims to have it on good authority that the only reason why Snooki lied to various media outlets about being pregnant one month ago is because she wanted until she was past the 3-month threshold until she said anything about it.
“Snooki was LYING FOR TWO when she denied pregnancy rumors earlier this month, but sources tell TMZ the 'Jersey Shore' star had a damn good reason – she didn't want to jinx herself,” the celebrity e-zine writes.
As a side note, Snooki also lied to TMZ when they asked her if she was pregnant, telling them that she wasn't and that the mere insinuation that she was revealed they considered her “fat.”
“Sources close to the MTV star tell us, Snooks WAS already pregnant when she went on Sirius/XM radio on Feb. 1st and told everyone she was OUTRAGED by the suggestion that she had preggo belly,” the same media outlet says.
“But we're told Snooki is taking the situation very seriously, especially the taboo about revealing the pregnancy before the 3rd month,” adds TMZ.
Snooki is now believed to be about 3 months along, which means an announcement should come any day now.
However, what remains a mystery is how her spinoff reality show, on which she appears next to good friend and “Jersey Shore” alum JWoww, will play out considering that she won't be allowed to drink if she's really with child.
