A fashion statement phone

Au just brought in the spotlights its Infobar 2 mobile phone, not your average handset. The device manages to pack some impressive performances in a sleek and shiny case that few other producers had the courage of using until now.

Infobar 2 is a phone that you either love or hate. There are few chances that customers will stand in between these limits, as it comes with an innovative and fresh design. The screen and buttons all look as one, with slight lines to break the smooth surface. Its corners are also rounded, leaving no edge on its entire case, but only slightly curved shapes. The colored ones bring a subtle eccentricity in a stylish and modern way.

Of course, those who have grown keen on the elegant design that some mobile phones manage to reach through their sharp surfaces and lack of any curves will dislike this one. In fact, through its simple design and vivid colors, Infobar 2 might look like a toy. Far from that, as it packs some impressive performances.

The 2.6 inch OLED screen is capable of supporting a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. That should prove to be great for watching TV through the handset's built-in 1Seg mobile TV tuner. The phone also includes support for EZ FeliCA, an e-wallet service which allows users to purchase products just by swiping their cell phone over a special reading device used in Japan. There is also a 2 megapixel camera, although a better one would have been great and a microSD card slot too for storing a great amount of personal files.

The one disadvantage of Infobar 2 is the excessive length that will make it uncomfortable in the user's pocket. At the dimensions of 47 ? 138 ? 15.5 mm and 104 grams in weight, the phone proves to be larger than most other ones out there. The unusual size can be put on account of the fact that it also packs a mobile TV. Of course, this also means larger and easier to use buttons and huge display, but many people will not be willing to go past its large sizes.

Infobar 2 will be available in Japan starting this November. Unfortunately for some people, there are no chances for it to go outside this country for a release at a larger scale.
