Smartfish have decided to adapt their anti-RSI offering, the Smartfish Mouse, in order to cater for the needs of users on the move, and released the Whirl Mini Notebook Laser mouse, described as a gravity-defying travel mouse that adapts to the natural motion of your hand.

The reason for that is that more and more people are affected by RSI (repetitive stress injury), caused by working a lot on their computers without maintaining a proper position and/or using ergonomically-shaped devices.

The Whirl Mini builds off of the unique design of the original Smartfish Mouse which was awarded the CES Innovations award for 2010, employing the same patented technology that virtually eliminates the possibility of static joint pain by allowing full circulation through the wrist and hands throughout the day, but in a smaller form factor.

The Whirl Mini Notebook Laser mouse is plug and play compatible with MACs and PCs, features an ambidextrous design, 1600-dpi hi-def laser sensitivity, 2.4MHz wireless connectivity and extra long battery life.

Moreover, it comes in an array of colors including Carbon Fiber, Black, Blue, Silver, Red, and White.

“Conventional notebook mice lack comfort not only because of their smaller size but also due to the fixed, rigid position your hand is forced into for hours on end.” said Dr. Jack Atzmon, President and CEO of Smartfish Technologies.

“This leads to fatigue, discomfort, and ultimately, repetitive stress injury. Whirl’s comfort pivot system provides the natural fluid movement your body needs,” added Mr. Atzmon, concluding that “the mouse becomes a natural extension of your hand as if it’s floating on air. It’s the most luxurious comfort attainable for on-the-go computing.”

Pricing for the new Smartfish Whirl Mini Notebook Laser Mouse has been set at just around $49.95 (quite affordable, given its features), the ultra-ergonomic peripheral being available for pre-order as we speak and shipping in early December.
