Although the computing industry appears to be growing towards the adoption of the latest touch-enabled devices, we can't forget the old mouse and keyboard, as the primary input devices. On that note, a small company called Smartfish Technologies, announced its new ErgoMotion keyboard, featuring an interesting design that will enable consumers to adjust position of the keys, in order for them to take advantage of a comfortable typing experience.

"The Smartfish ErgoMotion Keyboard was created to effectively address a user's risk of repetitive stress injuries," said Dr. Jack Atzmon, president and CEO of Smartfish Technologies. "Our streamlined design, coupled with our revolutionary ErgoMotion technology, provides for a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for the user. With the release of the ErgoMotion Keyboard, we're pioneering the next generation of computer peripherals while further advancing our commitment to provide users with the most sophisticated and comfortable line of computer accessories available."

The technology behind the ErgoMotion keyboard enables users to take advantage of a better typing experience through the integration of two pads that can be adjusted in order to better fit the user's typing profile. Featuring a curved design, similar to some other keyboards that have been made available on the market, the keyboard comes with adjustable pads. These slide to the left and right, better accommodating the user's position, in an attempt to provide a better typing experience. Apparently, in time, the keyboard will use its onboard memory to monitor the user's typing style, consequently creating a system that will automatically change the position of the keyboard, depending on the user.

Showcased during CES 2010, the ErgoMotion keyboard from Swordfish is expected to become available sometime in March, for a starting price tag of US$150. Looking for a place in the next-generation line of peripherals, the new keyboard might take some time getting used to.
