Slacker, Inc. announced recently the availability of Slacker Personal Radio in Canada, offering BlackBerry and Android device users in the country the possibility to enjoy the first personal radio experience ever available for them. Users can access the service either online on the company's website or via the free applications that can be found at the App World or via the Android Market, the company says, adding that it also plans the release of an application for the users of the iPhone and iPod touch.

Users in Canada will be able to enjoy the free Slacker Basic Radio for up to 30 days, the company states. After that period of time, one can upgrade to Slacker Radio Plus, which brings the same features as Slacker Basic Radio, in addition to station caching for supported mobile devices, ad-free listening, complete song lyrics, and more. Slacker Radio Plus is available for those interested in it for a $3.99 USD per month subscription.

The station caching feature Slacker Radio Plus comes around with offers users the possibility to store personal stations on selected smartphones so that they can listen to them anywhere they want at any time. According to the company, users can download a station either via Wi-Fi, over USB or through the cellular networks, and caching a station enables one to enjoy the listening without having to access the carrier's network.
