Late bloomer

It might seem a bit late but Sony has found the way of putting up a demo version of PlayStation 3 exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the action adventure title that showed up on a variety of Game of the Year lists for 2009. Before the official release of the game, which arrived in late 2009, only a multiplayer demo was offered, as developers at Naughty Dog and publisher Sony aimed to attract a wider array of gamers to the title.

All those who have not bothered picking up the title until now can give the demo a try to discover an engaging and very beautiful game that manages to balance shooting with exploration while also finding the time for some clever dialogue and a pretty well built story.

Fans of Uncharted 2 might also pick up the fresh “PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack” for the videogame for 4.99 dollars. The package contains seven new character skins for multiplayer matches, with a Sev and a Helghast soldier from Killzone 2, Nathan Hale and an enemy Chimera from Resistance 2, and Cole (in both good and evil versions) with Zeke taken from inFamous.

With the success of Uncharted 2, the people at Naughty Dog must also be thinking about creating a sequel for the series, which appears to have become one of the most important on the PlayStation 3. It seems that more substantial downloadable content for the second installment will not appear, so initial work on Uncharted 3 must be on its way.

Nolan North, the actor who provides the voice of the main character of the series, hinted at more work coming his way in 2010 related to Uncharted, so fans should not be surprised to see an announcement coming this year and a new release in the series arriving in 2011. It will probably be another hit as long as Naughty Dog does not tinker with the formula and manage to offer similar top tier graphics.
