Showcase your singing skills

Music games are extremely popular these days as they allow players to envision themselves as their favorite singers and have a great time alongside family and friends when they are playing. The fact that you can also play these games competitively provides an even bigger dose of entertainment as you can showcase your virtual music skills to others.

That is just what the team at Sony thought when they made the new 3.01 update to SingStar, which will add, alongside other features, the much awaited trophies that will be unlocked if you are very good at the game – more than 30 trophies will be added, all of which awarded based on various criteria during specific songs or upon attaining specific scores.

But don't waste your voice completely trying to get your hands on these new trophies, as the Sony team has announced that on April 22 a new feature will be implemented in the karaoke game, namely voice control, which will enable you to leave the controller alone and simply tell the PlayStation 3 just what songs or options you want to access.

SingStar is Sony's karaoke franchise, which allows players to sing along to their favorite tracks and try to reach some notes as their favorite artists. It has seen many iterations, with the upcoming SingStar: Queen being the latest one, all of which gained a lot of fans due to their intuitive gameplay.

Hopefully these new features will stir the interest of players once more and give them a chance to dust off the game. With rivals like Guitar Hero or Rock Band, SingStar needs to be commended for managing to fight a good fight against those much more feature-rich games. The patch will automatically download the next time you start up the game.
