Konami has launched a new promotion on Facebook linked to the just announced Silent Hill horror video game, called “Be Buried in Silent Hill!” which offers fans of the franchise a chance to be one of the names that appear on burial stones in the cemetery of the mysterious and evil place.

In order to get that burial place fans will need to create concept art of a burial sculpture and submit it before February 10, when publisher Konami will choose the best six of them and will put them up for a public vote on the official Facebook page.

Three winners will be determined on February 16 and their designs and names will be included in Silent Hill: Downpour.

Konami says that all designs need to be original, meaning that popular series characters like Pyramid Head are not valid submissions.

The official content page, Silent Hill's Graveyard tab on Facebook, is available here for all those who are interested.

The Konami announcement linked to Silent Hill: Downpour is part of a growing trend of promoting video game via Facebook based promotions, with some developers going even further and delivering full fledged video games on the social network, like BioWare does with the Legends title linked to Dragon Age 2.

The new Silent Hill video game will feature a prison convict as the main character and will follow him as he explores the strange town where his transport has crashed, battling supernatural demons and, staying true to the series, the terror emerging from his own past.

Konami is promising a deep horror experience where gamers will face different challenges and side quests depending on their play style, in addition to the main story.

Silent Hill: Downpour is set to be delivered on the PlayStation 3 from Sony and on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft at some point during this year.
