Shia LaBeouf is really intent on proving he's more than his Hollywood reputation and image. After starring in the controversial Sigur Rós video for “Fjögur Píanó,” he's getting ready for an even bigger challenge.

Shia is attached to Lars von Trier's film “Nymphomaniac,” whose title obviously explains its plot. He will play one of the lovers of the main character.

The Hollywood Reporter has it straight from Shia that, unlike with most movies, this one won't include loves scenes acted out, but rather shot live, within the legal confines, of course.

“[The movie] is what you think it is. It is Lars von Trier, making a movie about what he’s making,” the actor says.

“For instance, there’s a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says we’re doing it for real. Everything that is illegal, we’ll shoot in blurred images. Other than that, everything is happening,” he adds.

Asked why he'd take on such a role that many actors won't probably even come close, Shia says he's terrified of Triers and he'll only work on projects that scare him like this.

Charlotte Gainsbourg and Stellan Skarsgard are officially attached, while Nicole Kidman is also said to be in talks for a smaller part.
