“Lawless” tells the story of the Bondurant brothers (Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf), who make a living of bootlegging.
As is usually the case, they get mixed up with the wrong kinds of people and, in almost no time, are so over their head in trouble it seems there's no way out.
Pearce, as an agent who doesn't quite play by the rules, and Gary Oldman as some kind of mafia boss, clearly contribute to making the mess even bigger.
Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska also appear in supporting roles.
“Lawless” drops in US theaters on August 31, but expect to hear of reactions to it before that, in May, when it opens at Cannes.
