BioWare, the developer of Mass Effect 2, and Electronic Arts, the publisher of the title, have announced the cast of stars set to provide voice acting for the game that should arrive on January 26, 2010 in the United States and on January 29 in Europe.

The list includes: Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Martin Sheen, well known for the “The West Wing” and “Apocalypse Now,” Emmy Award winner Shohreh Aghdashloo who starred in HBO's “House of Saddam,” comedy actor Seth Green from “Austin Powers,” Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin, the stars of geek show “Chuck,” Keith David from “Crash,” Michael Dorn from “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” Tricia Helfer, the mysterious and beautiful Six from “Battlestar Galactica,” Michael Hogan from the same show and Carrie-Anne Moss, one of the stars of “The Matrix.”

Dr. Ray Muzyka, who is the co-founder of BioWare and the man in charge of role playing and MMO development at Electronic Arts, said that “Emotionally engaging narrative is a key design pillar for BioWare, and the top-notch voice talent in Mass Effect 2 helps drive this goal. Credible, powerful personalities are vital to delivering a compelling story experience in BioWare’s games, and we have assembled an amazing ensemble cast that surpasses the very high bar set in the original Mass Effect!”

Martin Sheen will star as the Illusive Man, the commander of Cerberus, a new organization Shepard will have to deal with, while Yvonne Strahovski will play his right hand Miranda Lawson, genetically engineered to excel in combat and in thinking. Tricia Helfer will provide the voice of Normandy and Carrie-Ann Moss will be Aria T’Loak, a powerful crime lord. Mass Effect 2 promises a deeper and more seamless experience than the first game, with much improved combat and more complex dialogue and character interaction.
