Sharp Corporation has just announced the official release of their latest smartphone, Sharp WS011SH, also called Advanced WZERO 3. The handset is released via Willcom, a Japanese PHS network operator and it will be available starting from mid July.

WS011SH has a Marvell PXA 270 processor that runs at 520 Mhz, a flash memory of 256 MB and 128 MB of ROM. It features a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard and a big 3.0 inch WVGA touchscreen with 65,536 colors and a resolution of 800x480 pixels (this kind of screen should satisfy even the most capricious mobile phone user). The OS is Windows Mobile 6, with pre-loaded applications like Opera browser, Google maps and Pocket Office. Windows Media Player is also included, for playing videos and music. Among other specifications we can name Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, Micro SD card slot and mini USB. A 1.3 Megapixel camera is incorporated and maybe a better one should have been more adequate. But hey, a smartphone is not really about the camera and after all 1.3 Megapixel is not that bad.

Sharp WS011SH weighs 157 grams and, when closed, its dimensions are 50?135?17.9 mm. The time for full charging the phone's battery is 3.5 hours, but after that you'll have a talk time of 7 hours and a stand-by time of 500 hours.

With a Willcom talk plan, WS011SH's price is said to be of 29,800 Yen, meaning about 245 dollars or 180 Euro. The Osaka-based company (and I mean Sharp, of course) did not give any details about the release of WS011SH in other countries other than Japan. But if we think about its features, looks and target, it probably won't take long until this silvery piece of mobile technology hits US and maybe Europe too.
