Not impeded by how the desktop front seems to be slowing down, Sharkoon has stepped forward and revealed its newest mid-tower enclosure, complete with pricing details.

The PC case market is one that often sees new members emerging from the labs of IT players, even though desktops have been losing ground to the mobile front lately.

Not long ago, the personal computer celebrated its 30th anniversary, though there was a hint of gloom in the occasion.

Basically, the PC segment is believed, by some, to already be in decline, slowed down by the shift in focus from the desktop to the laptop and tablet.

The recent interest in Ultrabooks, for instance, is just the latest symptom of this development.

Sill, there is no way that desktops will outright disappear any time soon, so companies like Sharkoon need not put themselves through a major restructuring or leadership change (like the one AMD took over half a year to solve).

Speaking of Sharkoon, it was discovered that its most recent case has been completed and released, bearing the name of Tarea.

Priced at 36.49 Euro in Europe, it is coated completely in black, its construction being wrought out of steel.

Nine 5.25-inch ODD (optical disk drive) bays are present, allowing for DVD, CD and Blu-ray drives, or accessories, like fan controllers or HDD/SSD enclosures.

Additionally, Sharkoon threw in an I/O panel (on the top), which provides eSATA, two USB 2.0 ports and audio connectors (headphone, mic).

What's more, a tool-free mounting systems ensures that components are added without hassle.

Other things that the company saw fit to add are up to four fans (120mm diameter, placement on front, back and side) and pre-drilled holes for watercooling (two at the back).

Finally, the entire product measures 475 (L) x 200 (W) x 440 (H) mm and has a weight of about 6.2kg.
