Steve Parker, who has been working as a senior producer on the Diablo III project, has announced via Twitter that he is no longer working at Blizzard and that he was already getting ready to work on a new project, although he did not mention exactly what it was.

His message says, “Hey Twitter, I’m no longer working at Blizzard or on D3. I’ve had a great 5 years there and those guys are going to do an amazing job with Diablo” and it adds he is, “looking forward to bigger and better things”.

Parker says that he is on amiable terms with the Blizzard leadership and that the work he has put into Diablo III has been a pleasure.

The developer has already posted a job opening for a producer for the game.

It is not clear whether the resignation of Steve Parker, who had a prominent role in the development of Diablo III up until now, is linked to the important changes that Blizzard has announced are coming to the beta version of the game.

Last week Blizzard announced that it would revamp core features of the game, like the main characteristic of the player character, who are now reduced to just four, and the way the skill trees are linked to them.

The developers have also said that they are eliminating some of the options that gamers have when it comes to weapon customization and item salvaging while making it easier for gamers to reach the hub town of the game from anywhere in the world.

It seems that the changes will not be the last to come to the Diablo III beta and that players will have a chance to offer their feedback in the coming weeks.

Diablo III was widely thought to launch during the spring of this year but the recent changes might mean that the game will be delayed once again.
