14 DAY TRIAL // Until not long ago, young stars Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift formed a couple made in paparazzi heaven: both young, beautiful, talented and successful, they were nothing short of the ideal couple for the paps and the tabloids. They reportedly broke up late last year, on grounds they were never such a good pair to start with. Reports in the media would suggest though that a third person was also involved.
And that person, according to Star Magazine (via The Hollywood Gossip) is none other than a former flame of the “New Moon” heartthrob, Disney cutie Selena Gomez. Star doesn’t name the source of the story, but it does stress that it got it for a fact that the two Taylors did not break up because they had suddenly realized that they had little in common to make their romance work in the long run.
“When Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner ended their brief relationship, most sources agreed the basis for this break up was basic: The pair simply didn’t have a lot in common. Moreover, strong feelings weren’t there on Swift’s side. But Star magazine has a different theory: a well-known, adorable third person got herself between Taylor and Taylor – Selena Gomez!” THG writes based on the recently surfaced report.
“Gomez and Lautner were a rumored item for awhile, as the former has said meeting the latter was ‘the best thing ever.’ An insider now says the spark between these two never died down and they’ve rekindled at least some sort of relationship. Are there any facts to back up this claim? Of course not,” the same gossip e-zine goes on to say. However, in true Hollywood fashion, the mere fact that there can’t be smoke without a fire makes this report worthy of consideration.
At the same time, other “sources” are telling other tabs that it was not Lautner who ended the relationship, but Swift herself, having suddenly found a new love interest in the person of John Meyer, whom she met when recording together a duet for his album. As of now, these reports too are unconfirmed.
