Sarah Jessica Parker says she’s open to reprising the Carrie Bradshaw role for another film

Despite a terrible critical reception of last year’s sequel to the film based on the original HBO series “SATC,” which turned Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) into an icon, the actress is not yet done with it.

In a recent interview with the LA Times, Parker revealed that she wouldn’t mind coming back for a threequel, even though both critics and fans (to some extent) were terribly disappointed in the sequel.

Of course, she says, it’s not like she and the rest of the cast will get back together tomorrow and start shooting the film – just that it’s nice to know that this door is not closed for good.

As she puts it, if you’re a fan and this news is getting you overhyped, you should probably know that, even if a threequel gets made, SJP doesn’t see it happening for another few years.

“I would go back. I think there’s one more story to tell. I know there is,” Parker says of the possibility of reprising the role of Carrie Bradshaw for another film.

One possibility would be to have the beloved character as a mother, a light she hasn’t been seen it. What with the reconciliation at the end of the second film, this could definitely be in the cards.

“I’d definitely tell that [third] story, and I know Michael would do it right. But maybe not now. Maybe in five years, you know?” the actress says.

Asked about these large pauses (the sequel also came years after the original, and it followed the series after quite a gap), Sarah says they have nothing to do with her attempts at breaking free from the franchise, as some would have it.

“It’s not that I want to get away from [SATC]. In a million years, who could get away from it? It’s just that if I’m not scared again that’s not good for me. That’s literally no good for me,” the actress says.
