Much has been said about the HBO series “SATC,” both in support of and against it, but, at the end of the day, it still remains one of the most appreciated shows on TV, as well as probably the one with the most loyal fanbase. So, when Warner Bros. finally released “The Movie” in 2008, it did extremely well at the box-office. This, in turn, warrants talk of a sequel, which has already been half-confirmed by industry insiders.

While over the weekend rumors had it that Sarah Jessica Parker would want none other than the Princess of Pop herself, Britney Spears for a small part in the sequel, this time we get near-confirmation that the movie will be happening.

Us Weekly says, citing sources close to the production crew, that the four main stars of the series and the movie have already agreed to the sequel, the only thing still remaining to be settled being the paycheck of each.

“Not all the contracts are signed, but everyone is on board. It just happened.” the spy tells the mag, adding that some hold-up is to be expected in terms of the salary of each actress. At the same time, another source unveils for Us that all four stars (Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Catrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon) will be getting “hefty raises this time around,” although, in all fairness, they did not work for pennies either for “The Movie.”

On this note, Catrall’s situation was the most mediated, she being the one who reportedly held things back by not wanting to return for the film unless she got the same paycheck as Sarah Jessica Parker. With all that, when the four ladies finally reunited, they managed to make the $65 million movie gross almost $150 at the box-office, as well as to please diehard fans who had been praying for such a reunion.

“It’s all about the story. If we can’t tell a story that’s really worthy of an audience, then we won’t do it. We’ve been really lucky at this point. We’ve been in people’s good graces for a long time, and we take that very seriously. So that’s the biggest challenge, the story.” SJP said back in September, when asked about a possible follow-up to “The Movie.”
