Sprint has launched the long awaited M1 handset from Sanyo, a phone that brings in the life of Sprint users a new fresh air of multimedia features complemented by a huge 1 GB of built-in memory to store all the favorite songs and videos of its future owner. Even if it isn't one of the slimmest phones available on the market today, the M1 will easily be forgiven when you will get to see its spec sheet that will place you in a different view angle, so to speak.

The first things that will catch your eye will be that 1 GB of pre-installed memory already mentioned above, the 2 megapixel digital camera with auto-focus and camcorder capabilities, the iPod looking external music controlling clickwheel and the 262k colors QVGA TFT LCD internal display working at a resolution of 240x320 pixels.

The spec sheet also mentions lots of other goodies included in the package, goodies as the media player with support for almost any kind of audio and video file available, the music streaming capability with the help of the Sprint Radio service, the EV-DO data transfer technology for ultra-fast video streaming using the Sprint Power Vision Network, mobile TV and video-on-demand through the Sprint TV service, the Sprint Music Store technology that will let you download and listen songs of almost any artist and music genre, dual 15 mm speakers providing full music playback by left/right channel separation and Bluetooth wireless connectivity for a secure and fast transmission between the handset and the various Bluetooth enabled accessories one uses, without the constant annoyances of the wires and the cables we all hate so much.

There still are many other features that I didn't mention, most of them having some sort of relation to the Sprint Power Vision network, but the ones that I did mention are capable to deliver the essence of what this handset can mean to a multimedia addicted user in continuous search for a device to fulfill all its daily audio and video needs.

If you are one of those users and you're also one of Sprint's customers this is the phone you should get. Sprint sells the M1 cell phone for 349.99 $ if you don't want to sign any contracts and for 199.99 if you decide to get yourself a new contract with the American carrier.
