Sony's A7 and A7R are a success on the mirrorless market mostly due to their unique 35mm full-frame sensor that offers an amazing optical performance comparable with Nikon's D800 and D800E DSLRs.
Although Sony's full-frame lens lineup is not that diverse and consists only of five lenses, its success encouraged other lens manufacturers to extend their offer and launch new lenses for E-mount digital cameras.
This is the case of South Korean-based company, Samyang who just announced the availability of five new full-frame lenses for Sony's E-mount mirrorless cameras.
The new lens models are as follows: Samyang 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC, Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS IF UMC, Samyang T-S 24mm f/3.5 ED AS UMC, Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC and Samyang 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC.
With this announcement, Samyang increases their mirrorless lens lineup and offers Sony NEX camera users a wide range of prime lenses, from the 14mm f/2.8 wide-angle perfect for landscape, architecture and interior photography to the 85mm f/1.4 ideal for low-light photo sessions and artistic portraits.
Although these lenses are fitted for a full-frame sensor, they can be successfully used on APS-C format cameras (like the NEX series), taking in consideration the crop factor of the sensor.
A few days ago, we were reporting that Mitakon was also working on a new fast full-frame lens for E-mount mirrorless cameras, namely the Mitakon 50mm f/0.95, which will join their 35mm f/0.95 lens designed for APS-C E-mount cameras.
In addition to that, Chinese photographic accessories manufacturer, Shanghai Transvision announced that the company was working on a new line of fast lenses that would fit all mirrorless camera mounts including Sony's E-mount.
