At the beginning of 2013, Samyang Asia hinted that the company was working on a fast prime lens that was planned to be launched later this year.

Recently, a reader asked Samyang on its Facebook page whether the 50mm f/1.2 lens would still be released this year, and the South Korean manufacturer responded that the product would no longer be launched. No further information has been disclosed regarding Samyang's decision to cancel the release of the lens.

Earlier last month, the first E-mount full-frame lenses announced back in December 2013 started shipping to the first customers who pre-ordered them. The two lenses currently available for purchase are the Rokinon (Samyang) 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC and Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC lenses, available at a price of $399 / €295 and $299 / €221, respectively.

Moreover, three more E-mount full-frame lenses are planned to hit market shelves soon, including Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS IF UMC, Samyang T-S 24mm f/3.5 ED AS UMC, and Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC.
