Last week, Samsung’s upcoming S Band Fitness wearable surfaced in a couple of leaked slides destined as a promo material for the upcoming Galaxy S smartphone.

So we got an idea of what the upcoming band might look like, but now we have word (via Stereopoly) the company has quietly showcased the upcoming device at an event in Germany, without any official announcement or press release.

More than that, it appears the S Band name is now obsolete and Samsung is calling this fitness-centric product, the Activity Tracker. More than that, we even have a pricing for the wearable, which appears to have been set at €79.90 / $111.

When it makes its debut on the market, the Activity Tracker will compete with wearables like Jawbone UP, Nike FuelBand and FitBit. Just like the products we have mentioned, the Activity Tracker’s functions include the ability to monitor distance traveled, calorie consumption, sleep monitoring and relaying notifications from the wearer’s smartphone (for calls and messages).

Samsung’s fitness band can be paired to the handset via Bluetooth 4.0 and like its Gear Fit cousin offers users a choice in the strap department (its removable and interchangeable). Furthermore, the band is manageable via the same app that works in concert with the Gear Fit.

There are five different colors to choose for the LED notification lights and the device is charged via a microUSB port. In theory the fitness band should offer a life span of up to 5 days.

Even more interestingly, the Activity Tracker appears to be up for pre-order on Amazon Germany, but at this moment there’s no information for when it will make it to other markets as well.
