Samsung has just confirmed the existence of its i550 phone model and also provided some official specifications. The phone looks great and should start shipping pretty soon, some great news coming from this handset producer.

Samsung i550 is a tri-band phone, which works in the GSM 900/1800/1900 network. It comes with HSDPA technology, which should take care of providing some high data transfer speeds. There is also EDGE and UMTS to make the package complete. The phone runs on Symbian 9.2 OS with S60, which also proves that Samsung i550 is an evolved handset.

The 3.2 megapixel camera also has autofocus and flash, which should make it capable of taking some fairly high quality captures. Aside from this, the device is also capable of providing a full HTML browser for making the web surfing more pleasant than what average mobile phones are capable of providing.

Samsung i550 has a 2.6 inch QVGA 262K color TFT display, a fairly large one, which is also reflected in the phone's large sizes. At 115 ? 53 x 13.8 mm, the phone is neither large, nor small, but rather average. It should prove to be comfortable to use, but it will not stand out from this point of view. Its slim buttons give it personality, although larger thumbs might not appreciate them too much.

One very useful feature that Samsung i550 is capable of providing for its user is that of built-in GPS. This explains the large sizes of the phone and also its evolved display screen. There is also an FM radio included for entertainment, along with Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

It sounds like Samsung i550 is capable of responding to almost any evolved need coming from its user, all packed in a stylish design. The phone should be out on the market this November, a pretty close deadline for its release.
