Samsung SGH-i550 has been present at the IFA 2007 show, offering to anyone the possibility of having a glimpse at how it looks like. Samsung's announcement for this phone has been made along with those for some other evolved devices, such as the F330 and SGH-i620 models.

Samsung SGH-i550 is one particularly impressive handset coming from this producer. The device manages to pack some of the best performances that mobile phones are capable of bringing, all in an unusual design for Samsung. The wide, slim keypad buttons remind more of some of Sony Ericsson's phone models than those coming from this manufacturer. The navigation ones also have a strange design, although they suit the phone just fine.

The design does Samsung SGH-i550 no favor, as it looks more like a practical device than a stylish one. Still, it is 3G enabled and packs an impressive data transfer speed of 3.6 Mbps. Moreover, this handset also includes GPS navigation, one feature that many evolved such devices manage to provide nowadays, as it is highly popular among users.

The 3.2 megapixel camera with flash sounds like the perfect thing to take high quality image captures. Aside from this, the phone can also handle Internet access and music files pretty good. All these are supported by a Symbian S60 operating system, which makes the phone's menu feel highly similar to the Nokia one.

Samsung SGH-i550 uses trackball navigation to get around the menu, which might prove to be somewhat difficult to use until the user gets the hang of it. The 2.6-inch screen looks great and proves to be excellent for media handling and viewing.

Samsung has just announced this i550 phone model at this year's IFA edition. The company made no specifications on the date when the handset will hit the market or on the price that it will come at.
