Announced back in August, Samsung’s bada 2.0 smartphones Wave and Wave Y are slated for a December release worldwide. However, the Korean handset maker may delay the launch of the devices for early 2012.

For the time being, Samsung fans who want to purchase one of these devices can now pre-order them via TheOrder retailer.

Although there are no release dates available for the moment, the retailer sells the Samsung Wave M for £329.49 (510 USD or 390 EUR) and the Wave Y for £249.99 (390 USD or 300 EUR).

Both phones will be available on pay monthly from Three, O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone, but there are no additional details concerning the release dates for these carriers.

It appears that Samsung already postponed the bada 2.0 update for the Wave smartphones, so it won’t come as a surprise if the Wave M and Wave Y will be delayed in the UK for the next year.

Even though both smartphones are powered by bada 2.0 operating system with TouchWiz user interface on top, they are differently priced.

The Wave M is the more expansive of the two and features a large 3.65-inch capacitive touchscreen with 320 x 480 pixels resolution, while the Wave Y has a slightly smaller 3.2-inch touchscreen display.

In addition, the Samsung Wave M sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus and LED flash, whereas the Wave Y features a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. It is also worth mentioning that the Samsung Wave M packs a secondary VGA front facing camera.

Also, the Wave M is powered by a standard 1350 mAh Li-Ion battery, while the Wave Y features a slightly lower 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery.

The rest of the features seem to be similar, including the 832 MHz processors, microUSB v2.0 with High Speed support, HSDPA (7.2 Mbps) and built-in GPS with A-GPS support.
