T-Mobile customers will be happy to find that their Samsung Vibrant will soon receive another software update that will fix a few bugs and will make available new features. Discretely announced on Samsung's Twitter page, the new JI6 is being pushed to Samsung Vibrant devices, as we speak.

Even if you already rooted your Vibrant, you will still get the update, but only if you're running stock kernel.

Also, you should know that you don't need to update using Samsung Kies application, as the file is pushed OTA to your device.

If you go to "Software update" and you're only able to see the "No firmware" message, you will simply have to wait a little as the update is rolled out in “packs.”

The official JI6 update leaked last week, and even if it was just a pre-leak build we already know the major changes and fixes that it brings.

Besides the important GPS fix and the addition of applications such as Media Hub, HD Camcorder and Task Manager, the update should bring more or less of these improvements:

- MobileAP fixed and working; - Bluetooth connectivity also fixed and working; - FancyWidget; - IM, Any Cut, Media Hub, ThinkFree Office applications added; - Fixed YouTube app video uploading; - Added more options for the camera application; - Fixed battery bug.

Bear in mind that the changelog above is based on a pre-leaked JI6, which may or not be 100% accurate. More goodie might be waiting for you once you install the update, which could probably take a few days to reach on every Samsung Vibrant.

Until more users that received the update report about the changes JI6 software update brings, we are left with the information we have at the moment.

Stay tuned for more updates on the subject.
