Today, Samsung Electronics, a leading global mobile phone maker, announced plans to hold a developers event in the UK. The event is aimed at the development of applications for the company's new bada operating system, and is set to take place in London on Friday, June 18. According to the handset vendor, the event follows closely the release of bada SDK (Software Development Kit), and has been designed for assisting and encouraging the building of applications for its mobile platform.

The bada Developer Day should be structured around the introduction of the operating system, on programming samples configured for specific technologies, as well as on applications built on the bada SDK, in addition to various demonstrations using real mobile phones. Samsung’s application store, ‘Samsung Apps’ will also be presented at the event, along with the certification process for apps submitted to it.

“The bada Developer Day is our first event of this kind and we’d encourage developers from across the country to sign up and join us in London on June 18th. We’re incredibly proud and excited about the possibilities of our bada platform and we’re looking forward to sharing our vision of bada and its applications with developers,” Simon Stanford, head of Mobile for Samsung UK & Ireland, commented ahead of the event's launch.

At the same time, the company announced that the Developer Day in London was only one of the first Samsung plans for Europe. The entire series of events should reach a number of more than 20 countries before the end of the ongoing year, it seems. The idea is centered around building up various developer support systems, including online and offline courses for the bada platform, or development support services via the bada Developers site.

“Registrations for participants will be available on the site (http://developer.bada.com). The event is open to any developer and there is no registration fee. As well as an insight into the bada platform, developers will also have the opportunity to win some fantastic Samsung prizes on the day. The Samsung bada Developer Day will be held on June 18th at the Congress Centre, 23-28 Great Russell Street, London,” the company concluded.

The bada SDK is available for download from Softpedia too, via this link.
