5 Megapixels and a fashionable look

T-Mobile USA customers, get ready for the most advanced South Korean handset you've ever seen from your carrier: Samsung Tocco (aka Samsung F480, aka Samsung TouchWiz). Unlike the current Samsung phones included in T-Mo's line-up of products, Tocco is a touchscreen device that packs a range of features which could make Sprint's Instinct feel a bit ashamed of itself.

According to TmoNews, the new handset might be named "Samsung T919" or "Samsung Roxy" when released by T-Mobile in the States.

Regardless of its final and official name, Samsung Tocco will bring users the following features: a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen display with 240 x 320 pixels, 262K colors and haptic feedback, a new TouchWiz User Interface with widget support, a 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus, image stabilizer, face detection, flash and video recording, GSM and HSDPA connectivity, Music and Video players, FM radio with RDS, document viewer, full HTML browser, email, Instant Messaging and 232MB of internal memory (expandable up to 8GB).

The T-Mo version of Tocco will apparently also feature built-in GPS (voice command included) and Wi-Fi, although there are no clear details about this.

Samsung Tocco weighs 106 grams (3.74 ounces) and measures only 98.4 x 55 x 11.6 millimeters (3.87 x 2.16 x 0.45 inches). Its battery is a 1000 mAh that should last up to three hours in talk-time mode or up to 250 hours in stand-by mode.

A release date for the Tocco has not been unveiled, but the touchscreen handset might be on sale this fall, at about the same time with the first-ever Android-powered device, which is said to be also released by T-Mobile.

The bottom line is that the future looks pretty bright for T-Mobile's American customers. Hopefully, both the Tocco and the Android handsets will indeed get to be launched soon.
