A new mobile phone is reportedly heading towards AT&T's airwaves, the Samsung Solstice A887, a mid-range handset that has been already known around as the Samsung Infinity, and which should land with the carrier as soon as August 2. According to the latest news around the Web, the phone should become available for purchase at $99.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate.

The upcoming Samsung Solstice should come to the market with a QVGA display that sports touchscreen capabilities, while also including the A-GPS functionality, as well as video share, stereo Bluetooth, email, IM, a 2-megapixel photo snapper, dual-band 3G, and a few other features as well. The upcoming availability of the device is almost certain, as the handset has already surfaced on a banner on Samsung's official product directory, yet the phone still has to be officially announced by the two companies.

As for the other Samsung device that sees the light of day in the North American continent, it comes in the form of Samsung Link, which has been already launched by Virgin Mobile Canada. The device was supposed to get released on Bell's airwaves, but, although the carrier already bought the stake in Virgin Mobile that didn't belong to it, it seems that only Virgin users will get the handset at this time.

The price for the Samsung Link has been set at CAD $99.99 on a prepaid basis, and at CAD $29.99 upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement with the carrier. The specs of the handset show a portrait QWERTY keyboard, a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper, a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, and a stereo Bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately, there are no details on when the handset will also come to Bell subscribers, but it is expected to do so in the near future, so stay tuned to learn more on this.
