Korean giant Samsung is reportedly the ruler of the dual core ARM mobile processor market. This is no surprise, since the company is holding most of the smartphone market that is not Apple based.

The analysis was done by Strategy Analytics and the results represent the market status of the year 2011.

Dual core mobile processors accounted for 20 percent of the total smartphone market last year and the rest of the players in the field, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments and Nvidia trailed with their Snapdragon, OMAP4 and Tegra 2 CPUs, but their combined share was considerably less than Samsung’s.

Qualcomm was the only significant competition, managing to acquire 16 percent of the market. The company is likely to considerably increase its market share this year, considering it’s the first to present a new dual core ARM architecture.

We’re of course talking about our Cortex A15 hero that mopped the floor with Intel’s latest and greatest.
