For $79.99 on contract, after a $50 mail-in rebate

Today, Verizon Wireless and Samsung Mobile officially announced the launch of Samsung Reality on the carrier's airwaves come April 22. The new mobile phone is set to become available for purchase for Verizon customers in two color versions, Piano Black and City Red, with a 3-inch touchscreen display, and with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The new handset lands on the market with Samsung’s unique TouchWiz interface and offers a wide range of messaging options, as well as the possibility to customize the device via widgets. For example, the Communities widget is meant to enable users easily access social networking sites, upload photos or videos, and more. Additionally, the Samsung Reality includes one-touch widgets, offering instant access to favorite Web sites via the handset's full HTML browser.

The specifications list of the new phone includes a 3-inch full touchscreen display that boasts a WQVGA (240 x 400 pixels) resolution, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities and others more, Bluetooth connectivity, built-in GPS receiver, or a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 16 GB of additional storage space.

Other features of the device include: Full suite of messaging options, including text, picture, video and voice messaging; Mobile IM; Mobile Chat; Mobile Email; and Mobile Web Email VZ Navigator capable – Receive audible turn-by-turn directions to more than 15 million points of interest and share the directions with others Visual Voice Mail – Delete, reply and forward voice mail messages without having to listen to prior messages or voice instructions Media Center – Access downloadable games, ringtones, wallpapers, location-based services and more Personal organizer and tools with calendar, calculator with currency converter, Notepad, alarm clock, world clock and stop watch Corporate Email (formerly RemoSync) support for Microsoft Office Exchange so customers can synchronize corporate e-mail, contacts and calendars from their office e-mail

The Samsung Reality will be put on sale on April 22 via Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online on the carrier's website featuring a price tag of $79.99 upon the signing of a 2-year contract agreement with Verizon and after a $50 mail-in rebate. According to the services provider, users should consider getting the handset on a Nationwide Talk or Nationwide Talk & Text plan, so as to benefit the most from their device.
