Eager to once again cause ripples on the IT market, Samsung stepped up and revealed one of its latest monitors, the P2770FH, is especially adept at eliminating motion blur and ghosting effects thanks to its response time of just 1 ms.

The P2770FH from Samsung has, as its name may suggest, a screen diagonal length of 27 inches.

This monitor is a liquid crystal display whose native resolution is of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, meaning it supports Full HD multimedia, among other things.

Granted, the newcomer is actually aimed at professionals that require fast refresh rates and 'precise detail', but home use is, of course, not excluded.

The display also has a DCR (dynamic contrast ratio) of 70,000:1, as well as a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m2.

"The new P2770FH is a prime example of Samsung's leadership in display engineering, and creative professionals and computer gamers seeking the best possible viewing experience will immediately appreciate its benefits," said Young Bae, director of display marketing at Samsung Enterprise Business Division.

"With the fastest response time among the product line, the P2770FH offers industry-leading quality for premium visual performance in everyday personal and professional use," Bae added.

For compatibility with a wide range of video cards, the Samsung P2770FH is designed with D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectors.

Other specifications include a size of 26 x 19 x 9.6 inches, a weight of 6.7 lbs, a pair of audio outputs and viewing angles of 170°/160. It sells for $400 and is backed by a three-year warranty.

“For more general consumer use, the fast response time contributes to smoother video playback, making it ideal for reviewing family movies or compiling the latest vacation memories,” the press release stated.

“Additionally, the P2770FH's 70,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and enriched color gamut offers a premium quality display for a variety of applications,” the announcement concluded.

UPDATE:

For those interested in a reminder, ViewSonic also has a 27-inch monitor with 1ms response time.

This product is known as the VX2739wm, was revealed back in May and has certain advantages, such as a lower price point ($349) and power draw when in Eco mode.
