Apart from attending this year's first important international electronics show, some of the camera and optics manufacturers on the market have also released new firmware updates for their products.

Among them, Japanese electronics maker Samsung has recently released a new lens firmware package for its NX2000 SMART mirrorless digital camera. The new firmware was exclusively designed to fix compatibility issues and bring a few improvements for certain camera/lens configurations.

First of all, in order to take advantage of the latest lens updates, your NX2000 camera body should have the latest firmware version installed. That being said, let's see what this new update brings to the table.

With this new version, Samsung brings a few notable changes to some of its lenses including: the 18-55mm-I (v1.20), 18-55mm-II_iFn (v1.10), 20-50mm-I (v1.10), 20-50mm-II (v1.00), 20mm (v1.10), 50-200mm-I (v1.20) and 50-200mm-II_iFn (v1.10).

Thanks to that, these lenses will now have an opposite sense for rotation for the MF ring as well as improved infinity AF (Auto Focus) accuracy when using the dedicated Fireworks mode. Furthermore, after this update, the aforementioned lenses will use less power when operated, prolonging battery life.

On the other hand, the Samsung 18-200 (v1.10) lens benefits from an improved aperture noise handling when using the camera's movie mode and is now using less power for the integrated optical image stabilizer.

Samsung 30mm (v1.22) lens has also received a few tweaks with the new firmware update, which improves AF accuracy and fixes an issue that caused intermittent failure of DMF when the shutter button was pressed half way. In addition to that, Samsung's 85mm (v1.10) lens back focusing problem encountered when using small apertures has also been solved.

If you own any of these Samsung lenses, you should download Samsung NX2000 Camera Lens Firmware 130509 right away in order to benefit from the latest improvements and fixes.
