There has been much talk of the Windows and Android operating systems, but there are other software platforms out there, such as the MeeGo, which has landed on a certain item that should be reaching Indian and Russian stores now.

Samsung has been nothing if not active on the mobile front lately, even as it created new partnerships and supposedly began considering buying HP's PC unit.

For instance, it unveiled the Sense NC notebook, which is outfitted with solar cells and, thus, can draw energy out of sunlight.

Now, a report surrounding a different product has brought Samsung back under the watchful eye of the consumer market.

As if to complete the spectrum of possible hardware-software combinations, the company's N100 netbook is making its entrance.

This particular mobile computer is a low-end model which, though not very different from most other netbooks as far as hardware goes, does have rather few other machines it can call close kin.

This is because, instead of the Windows operating system, the MeeGo OS is installed on it.

Then again, should users want the same hardware but with Microsoft's OS, they can buy the N102 instead.

Both the above items are now arriving in Russian and Indian online web stores, powered by Atom N435 processors (1.33 GHz) and featuring 10.1-inch displays with a native resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels.

With a price of $200, the N100 has a hard disk drive with a capacity of 250 GB and a platter rotary speed of 5,400 RPM (rotations per minute), plus 1 GB of RAM, a memory card reader, USB, a 3-cell battery and, of course, integrated Intel GMA graphics. The other machine (N102) sells for $299.

Finally, no pricing and availability details were given to the European market, though the final figures should not be too far apart from these two.
