Samsung Memoir was expected for quite some time now to get launched on T-Mobile, but it is only now that it has become available. The mobile phone carrier announced that the 8 Megapixel camera phone could finally be purchased by users across the United States.

The new device comes to the US market as the first 8-megapixel handset ever available in North America. Samsung’s Memoir T929 comes to the shelves as a full-touchscreen phone, and T-Mobile offers it for a price tag of $249 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier. Of course, those who would like to acquire the device contract free will be able to do so, only that they'll have to get $499 out of their pockets.

The most expected feature of Samsung Memoir is undoubtedly its 8-megapixel photo snapper, which features auto phocus, xenon flash, geo-tagging capabilities, as well as video recording functionality at 30fps. Perhaps the handset will not match the capabilities of a digital camera, but it surely includes one of the best cameras that were included in a mobile phone.

Among the specifications of the new Samsung Memoir we are able to count a 3-inch TFT touchscreen display that can provide users with a 240 x 400 pixel resolution, Samsung's TouchWiz UI, an accelerometer, A-GPS, Stereo Bluetooth, HTML Browser, and a 1GB MicroSD memory card included in the shipping package.

The battery included in the Samsung Memoir is able to deliver up to 5.5 hours of talk time, as well as up to 12.5 days of standby time. The mobile phone measures 105.9 x 53.6 x 14 mm and weighs 125 g. According to T-Mobile, the device will become available both via its retail stores around the country, as well as on its official website.

In the video below you can see an official hands-on demonstration with the phone.
