Sports Windows Mobile, not Android

One of the long rumored mobile phones that the South Korean handset maker Samsung was expected to release on the market with Google's Android operating system packed inside was the Samsung Houdini. The device made an appearance in some leaked shots with T-Mobile's Android roadmap back in May this year, yet nothing else was heard about it ever since.

That is until now, as the handset's name popped up in a video promo on the Internet. The video has the title of Samsung B7610, though it is quite obvious that the device presented in those images is not the Samsung OmniaPRO B7610 that the company unveiled not too long ago. Even so, it should be mentioned that the device in the video runs under Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system, and not under Android, as one might have expected.

The design of the phone is definitely different from the one OmniaPRO sports, yet it seems that the specs resemble a lot. Thus, the Samsung B7610, or Houdini, as this name can be seen in the video too, will come with an 800MHz processor, 500MB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, and the phone maker's TouchWiz user interface.

In addition, it also sports a 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen display that boasts an 800 x 480 pixel WVGA resolution, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and power flash, Wi-Fi connectivity options, 3.5mm earphone jack, TV-out, built-in GPS receiver, FM Radio with RDS, DivX support, Opera browser and DNSe support.

The handset also includes a 500mAh battery, and it seems that it runs under the 6.1 flavor of Microsoft's platform. For what it's worth, given the fact that WM 6.5 is just around the corner, there are great chances that it will be included with this mobile phone as well. Take a look at the video to make an idea on the Samsung B7610 Houdini, and keep an eye on this space for more updates on the matter.
