Samsung is definitely very persistent when it comes to big markets such as India and China. The Korean handset maker is trying to get as many of its devices as possible in these countries.

The latest device about to make its debut in the country is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, which will be known in India as Samsung Galaxy Tab 680.

The guys over at AndroidOS learned that the tablet would soon be available at Flipkart for no less than Rs 34,900 (710 USD or 535 EUR).

Although Flipkart has yet to receive the first stock of Galaxy Tab 680 units, it appears that Indianplaza retailer is already selling the slate for Rs 35,499 (720 USD or 545 EUR).

Samsung Galaxy Tab 680 aka Galaxy Tab 7.7 has already been confirmed for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, which is expected to be released within the next few months.

Even if the tablet doesn’t come with Google’s latest mobile operating system, customers can rest assured that the Galaxy Tab 680 will not disappoint them.

This is one of the few tablets coming with support for GSM voice communication, which means users will be able to make phone calls or send text messages.

The Galaxy Tab 680 runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb platform and Samsung’s TouchWiz UX user interface, which might not please some Android enthusiasts.

Hardware-wise, the slate is powered by a dul-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and packs 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32 GB).

On the back, the tablet sports an average 3-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there’s a secondary 2-megapixel photo snapper for video calls.

The tablet’s 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen display supports 800 x 1280 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.
