Unveiled back in August, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE tablet has finally made it to shelves in South Korea. One month after its official release on the market, the LTE-enabled slate is now available for purchase in handset maker’s home country.

Customers who want to purchase the slate will have to shell out no less than 760,000 won (660 USD or 500 EUR) for the 16GB model, or up to 837,000 won (725 USD or 550 EUR) for the 32GB variant.

However, the tablet’s price seems a bit steep especially that the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE is offered by SK Telecom. Perhaps the carrier is selling the tablet a bit cheaper with certain data and voice plans, as the Galaxy Tab 8.9 features full LTE and GSM voice communication support.

According to the folks over at SammyHub, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE is the fourth LTE-enabled tablet launched by Samsung in South Korea.

The tablet comes with a stunning 8.9-inch PLS capacitive touchscreen that boasts 800 x 1280 pixels resolution and support for 16 million colors.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE is powered by Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system with TouchWiz UX user interface on top.

Although Samsung confirmed plans to upgrade its top-tier Galaxy family devices to Ice Cream Sandwich, the handset manufacturer has yet to reveal which models will receive the update next year.

On the inside, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE is equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and packs 16GB/32GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM, but lacks a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

There’s also a 3-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls and chats.

With a wide range of connectivity options, such as LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, microUSB, TV-out, and GPS with A-GPS support, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE will surely satisfy any Android fans needs.
