Samsung has just announced that its new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S II will be available in Indonesia starting July 23rd.

Those who are anxiously waiting for the handset will be able to purchase it for no less than Rp 6,000,000 (about $700) without contract.

The sequel of the original Galaxy S smartphone, the Galaxy S II managed to break its predecessor's record, as the phone has been pre-ordered in more than 3 million units by various carriers worldwide.

Although the phone has yet to be available worldwide, Samsung hopes to deliver more than 10 million units in under two months since the phone's official launch on the market.

The Galaxy S II was built with only the latest innovative technologies developed by Samsung's R&D labs and aims to offer users the ultimate Android experience.

However, Samsung has yet to confirm which processor will be powering its device, as the Korean handset manufacturer stated that it would retail different versions of Galaxy S II, depending on the locations.

The Indonesian Galaxy S II may be equipped with a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz and manufactured by NVIDIA or an Exynos processor built by Samsung.

Furthermore, the smartphone is powered by Samsung's next-generation TouchWiz UX technology along with Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform.

Samsung Galaxy S II offers users HSPA+ connectivity that provides data transfers of up to 21Mbps, as well as HSUPA (5.76 Mbps).

In addition, the handset boasts a superior 8-megapixel camera and camcorder with 1080p full HD recording and playback, and a secondary 2.0-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

The phone's large 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touch screen display is based on Samsung's latest mobile display technology and is covered by Gorilla Glass to protect it from scratches.

Other highlights of the phone include: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM, microSD card slot (up to 32GB), GPS with A-GPS support and active noise cancellation with dedicated mic.
