South Korean carrier KT has just announced that it will be one of first operators to carry the Galaxy S II smartphone in the country. The smartphone is available for pre-order, but no release date has been disclosed yet.

Samsung's Android flagship smartphone comes with NFC (Near Field Communication) support, which works with KT's Olleh Touch payment system.

The Korean handset manufacturer is preparing to launch the Galaxy S II Android-based smartphone in the majority of European territories.

In this regard, UK will be the first European country to introduce the device on April 27th, but only through Phones 4u mobile phone retailer.

Telenor Sweden has also picked the smartphone and is accepting pre-orders, but the carrier has yet to announce a specific availability date.

On the other hand, Samsung Russia already confirmed that the Galaxy S II will hit the shelves in mid-May.

As a reminder, the Galaxy S II comes with the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system with TouchWiz UI 4.0 on top and is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor (with Mali-400MP GPU).

The phone's large 4.3-inch touchscreen is based on the company's latest Super AMOLED Plus technology and supports 16 million colors, as well as 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

Gorilla glass covers the display entirely to improve its survivability in case of accidental drops and/or scratches.

Additionally, the device is delivered with an accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off and gyroscope sensor.

On the inside, KT's Galaxy S II (SHW-M250K) comes with 16GB of internal memory, 1 GB RAM, microSD slot card for memory expansion (up to 32GB), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity, and microUSB 2.0 microUSB (MHL) with USB On-the-go support.

It is also worth mentioning that KT's Galaxy S II thickness will increase to 8.9mm, in comparison with the standard 8.5mm version, with the addition of the NFC technology.
