Aussie Android fans who have been waiting for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 just to see their dreams shattered by the dispute between Apple and Samsung that delayed the availability of the tablet across the country, will be happy to know that the Galaxy Note device is heading to Australia.

According to a Samsung Australia spokesperson, the smartphone is expected to hit shelves sometime next year:

Samsung is working with our partners to launch Galaxy Note in Australia by early 2012. Essentially, we do want to bring it to Australia but it won't be until next year.”

Although no additional information about the phone's price and exact launch date have been disclosed, Australia has become the second country that confirmed the Galaxy Note's availability.

In this regard, Samsung officially stated that the Galaxy Note will be introduced in the U.K. beginning November 17.

Other regions have yet to be confirmed, including United States, which should be on Samsung's top 5 list with countries where the Galaxy Note will be launched initially.

Unveiled last month during IFA 2011 trade fair, Samsung Galaxy Note received mixed feedback, especially given its large size.

In fact the smartphone is a strange crossbreed between a smartphone and a tablet, perhaps closer to the latter given its size.

The handset has a very large 5.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 800 x 1280 pixels resolution, which is protected by Gorilla Glass display.

It is powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform and comes equipped with a powerful 1.4 GHz dual-core Exynos processor, complemented by a Mali-400MP graphics processing unit.

Galaxy Note is delivered with a free 2GB memory card in the sales package, along with a S Pen stylus that allows users to make complex sketches with the device.

Obviously, owning this phone will not make a user a better sketch artist.
