Samsung's first Android-powered mobile phone, the Samsung i7500 Galaxy, has been launched in Germany as well, via O2. The handset comes with a wide range of interesting features, and it is even said to be the highest-end Android device launched on the market until now. However, even if it takes down the HTC Magic, it might not have the same success when the HTC Hero hits the market, some voices suggest.

For what it's worth, the specs of the Samsung Galaxy are as attractive as they can be. The phone comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper, while boasting support for 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity. In addition, it has 8GB of internal storage and sports a large 3.2-inch AMOLED display. Other features have been included in the package as well, all for only €69.99 (about $98) with a contract agreement, which doesn't sound too bad, after all.

In related news, we learn that the second largest mobile phone maker in the world recently announced having received no less than 2 million pre-orders for its newly launched Samsung Jet device. According to the news, this is the first time when the company receives more than 2 million pre-orders for one of its handsets, yet it seems that Jet's powerful capabilities, such as the 5-megapixel camera, or the DivX and XviD video support for video downloading and viewing are capable of attracting a lot of people.

The handset was launched last week on the market, comes with full touchscreen capabilities on a 3.1-inch WVGA AMOLED display, is powered by an 800MHz application processor, and features Samsung’s latest TouchWiz 2.0 user interface. In addition, the device's screen is reported to require 40 percent less energy than other displays, which makes it one of the most power-efficient gadgets on the market.
