It’s also up for purchase on PAYG for £250 (395 USD or 300 EUR)

As expected, Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus has just gone live in the UK. The smartphone is now available for free via Vodafone UK, as well as other leading retailers across the country.

Although the phone is free for grab, it requires customers to sign up for a 24-month £26 contract. Obviously, more expensive options for those who can afford are available as well.

Customers who want to avoid being tied by a long-term contract can now purchase the Galaxy Ace Plus on PAYG (pay as you go) for £250 (395 USD or 300 EUR) upfront.

The Galaxy Ace Plus is among the latest additions to the Galaxy family of smartphones. Surprisingly, the smartphone was initially launched in India for only 325 USD (250 EUR) outright, which is way cheaper than UK’s pricing options.

This is a mid-range Android-based smartphone, so don’t expect anything out of the ordinary. Even so, the Galaxy Ace Plus is not a completely “boring” device.

The smartphone comes with NFC (Near Field Communications) support and a decent 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor.

The handset is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface on top. It’s highly unlikely to see this one receiving an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in the future.

Anyway, the Galaxy Ace Plus offers users a mid-size 3.65-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

It also comes with dual cameras, a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus and LED flash, but no secondary camera for video calls.

Last but not least, Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus supports HSDPA (7.2Mbps), Bluetooth 3.0 and W-Fi connectivity, and packs 3GB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
