It appears that Samsung decided to debut the Galaxy Ace Plus in India rather than UK. The smartphone was initially slated for a February release, but for unknown reasons Samsung delayed the launch of Galaxy Ace Plus in the UK.

Potential customers can grab this one for free on select plans. However, those who are not willing to commit to a long terms contract can purchase the unlocked and SIM free Galaxy Ace Plus for only £248.98 (395 USD or 300 EUR).

Unveiled in early January, Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus has been introduced in India a few days ago. Android enthusiasts living in India can purchase the smartphone for 325 USD (250 EUR), which is much cheaper than the suggested retail price in the UK.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus is powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform and packs a 1GHz single core Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor. It also packs 3GB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

This is a mid-budget smartphone, so expect to come with a decent 3.65-inch capacitive touchscreen that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

There's also a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording.

The smartphone lacks a front-facing camera for video calls. The usual communication features are available as well, including HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB.

“We’ve had a positive response to the Galaxy Ace Plus since announcing it earlier this year and are looking forward to offering fans of the much loved Galaxy Ace an alternative device. As with all smartphones in our Galaxy range, the Galaxy Ace Plus is stylishly designed and packed full of features making it a great mid-range phone for our customers,” said Simon Stanford, Vice President, UK & IRE Telecommunications & Networks Division.
