14 DAY TRIAL // One day after Koodo Mobile officially introduced the Galaxy Ace, TELUS added the Android smartphone to its portfolio as well.
The smartphone is now available for free with a new three-year agreement or $229.99 (about 170 EUR) off-contract.
Additional price options for TELUS Galaxy Ace include: $179.99 (134 EUR) with one-year contract and $129.99 (97 EUR) with two-year agreement.
According to TELUS, Samsung Galaxy Ace is delivered with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board, though the handset was initially launched with Froyo.
The smartphone is equipped with a low-performance 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor and an Adreno 200 graphics processing unit.
It also packs 155 MB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).
Aside from the TELUS standard services, Galaxy Ace comes with Skype capabilities, which allows users to call their friends and families without using their anytime minutes.
Assuming the application is installed on the phone, Galaxy Ace users only need to connect via their TELUS data plan or Wi-Fi to call Skype and non-Skype users while on the go.
However, video calls will not be available with Galaxy Ace as the device does not feature a secondary front facing camera, instead it sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus and LED flash.
Galaxy Ace comes pre-loaded with Samsung's Social Hub, which provides users access to email, IM, social networking and SMS.
In addition, the phone sales package includes a white and a black battery cover that can be easily swapped.
Obviously, users will have access to over 250,000 free and paid apps via Android Market, as well as Google's full suite of apps, including Maps, Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, and Google Talk.
The phone drains energy from a 1350 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 640 hours (420 hours for 3G mode) of standby time or up to 11 hours (6 hours for 3G) of talk time.
