Samsung GT-B7722, aka Samsung Dual SIM Star Duos has just landed in India, one of the largest mobile phones emerging markets. Initially launched in Sweden in June 2010, the dual SIM handset supports 3G and 2G dual-active standby.

Samsung Star Duos features a 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen display with support for 262K colors (240 x 400 pixels resolution), TouchWiz 2.0 UI, HSDPA 3.6 Mbps and support for 9 regional languages.

The bar mobile phone sports a 5.0-megapixel camera with Power LED flash, as well as video recording capabilities (QVGA@30fps).

Other key features of the phone include: Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, DNSe audio enhancing technology, SNS support, FindMusic service to identify songs, Document viewer, Stereo FM Radio with RDS, FM recording, 250MB internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 16GB).

Samsung Star Duos measures 113.5 x 55.5 x 14.3 mm and weighs 112g (including battery). The feature-phone is powered by a 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery with a standby time of up to 420 h and up to 12 h 50 min of talk time.

Those planning to get one of these dual SIM handsets should know that the device does not operate both SIMs together, so you will only be able to use one SIM at a time.

To switch between the two SIMs, simply press the middle button on the phone's right side, without rebooting the phone.

Also users are reporting issues with clips that are recorded with other phones and stored on the memory card, which are not playing.

Even though Samsung only owns around 38.5 percent of the dual-SIM phone market in India, the Korean manufacturer hopes to boost its share with at least 25 percent more.

It seems that the Samsung Star Duos will be available in India for a price of Rs. 12,300, which is about $275 USD.
